因在电影《The Last King of Scotland》中成功再现历史上乌干达暴君Idi Amin形象，Forest Whitaker在近日获得2006年纽约影评人协会奖最佳男主角大奖。
电影节最大赢家当属Stephen Frears导演的《The Queen》，电影分获五项重要奖项。在最新歌舞影片《Dreamgirls》出演Effie White的Jennifer Hudson，凭借她本部处女作中表现的出众，获得最佳女主角和突出表现奖。Jennifer Hudson由美国最大的选秀活动American Idol中脱颖而出，堪称美国超女，首次出演电影便获得大奖肯定。
