2006年Spike Lee导演拍摄的纪录片“When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts”上映。这部四幕安魂曲通过多位灾难相关人物的故事，串起了一个充满伤感与未来希望的新奥尔良。当年“When the Levees Broke”即获得了美国戏剧类奖项艾美奖（Emmy）三项大奖，非虚构类节目优秀导演奖、非文学性影片奖和非剧情制作特别奖。
