作为老一辈的黑人电影人，Danny可以算是极其成功的一位了。他无论是电影还是电视或是舞台剧都来的得心应手。
在世界上人气极高的系列电影《致命武器》更是让国人熟知了这位外表坚韧内心博大的黑人演员。Danny自1980年就开始了自己的艺术生涯，最早他参加过美国百老汇的演出。就在他出道五年后，与乌比戈登堡共同创作了对美国电影届响深远的名片《紫色》，Danny所演绎的黑人暴力家庭中的主角让人至今难忘，也可以说是之间这类角色的一个不可逾越的高峰。
Danny拍摄过很多反映美国社会现实的影片，为黑人争取人权做出了不小的贡献。近些年他将方向转向了电视和舞台剧，并也取得了很大的成绩。
